How to Add/Update a Beneficiary

Add/Update Beneficiaries in UAccess

The U of A manages these accounts.

  • Securian Basic Life (Employer Paid)
  • Securian Supplemental Life
  • The Hartford Supplemental Life
  • Unum - Life Insurance with Short-Term Disability

Steps to Update a Beneficiary in UAccess

  1. Log in to UAccess.arizona.edu.
  2. Click on the University Benefits tile.
  3. On the Benefits Summary page, identify the accounts that need a beneficiary.

If you have opted into an account and listed at least 1 beneficiary, you will see this on the benefit tile:

Information Needed to Add a Beneficiary

For individuals

  • Full Legal Name
  • Birthdate
  • Gender
  • Social Security Number (called National ID in UAccess)
  •  Address
  • Phone
  • Email

For Non-Profit or a Trust

  • Full Business Name or Name of Trust
  • Address
  • Phone
  •  Email
  • For National ID, input: 444-444-4444

Benefits Tile without a Beneficiary

If you have opted into an account, and have not listed at least one beneficiary, you will see this on the benefit tile:

Add/Update Beneficiaries Through the Vendor

The individual vendor manages the following accounts. Follow the link to make changes in their customer portal.

Fidelity - ORP & 403b

To navigate to your beneficiary designations online:

  1. Log in to www.NetBenefits.com/aus.
  2. Click the Your Profile link.
  3. Select Beneficiaries and follow the online instructions.

TIAA - ORP & 403b

  1. Go to tiaa.org to register and/or log in to your account.
    Note: You’ll need a user ID and valid email address to sign up.
  2. Once logged in, under the Profile tab, choose Manage beneficiaries
  3.  From there, you can designate beneficiaries and select how much each
    should receive.
